The Ohio State Buckeyes Football. The New Evil Empire?

In every sport you have teams that everyone loves to hate. Major league baseball has the new york Yankees. in the NBA the L A Lakers are public enemy number 1. the NFL now has the New England patriots before them it was the San Francisco 49er's. it even spills over into collegiate sports with the Duke Blue Devils who are probably more hated than the Yankees, and for a while Miami Hurricanes football was hated by everyone outside of Miami's Dade county. as i am siting back thinking and just being around it i cant help but wonder, is Ohio State football turning into an evil empire?

Think about it they have great players ( same as other evil empires), A great coach ( Coach K, Joe Torre, Phil Jackson) and a great fan base. Buckeye Nation is as deep as any fan base and it stretches way outside of Ohio across the country and the world. But lets be honest some of you are turning into the exact things that you hate. The ultimate optimist that expects to win every single year period. Just like Yankee fans, Duke fans and every other powerhouse team. EVIL EMPIRE.

Now I was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio so I am a fan of the local teams (Browns, Cavs, Indians, Buckeyes) but I'm also a fan of teams outside of Cleveland and Ohio. I personally like Duke Basketball and yes the Cameron Crazies are annoying. I also like Miami Hurricanes football (for the record i rooted for the Buckeyes in the 02 Fiesta Bowl). I like what those teams embodied they reminded me of me these teams had swagger and if you are not a fan of them of course you are gonna hate them. I am also a lifelong fan of the Los Angeles Lakers. I love the Cavs but my NBA blood bleeds purple and gold. (Thats besides the point I'm digressing).Back to the Buckeyes I get hate mail for pointing out the obvious. The BCS Championship Game is going to be TOUGH. I didn't come out and say the Buckeyes were gonna get their asses kicked like WKNR's Tony Rizzo and Munch Bishop said on their radio shows after the BCS games were announced.

Some of you fans (and the guilty will make themselves known) are not wise. You point out the faults of other teams but you won't point out the Buckeyes shortcomings. Case and point you say that Matt Flynn is mediocre but this is his first full year as the starter. Now isn't this Todd Boekman's First full year as a starter? He had some mediocre games this year too but are you all saying that? NO!!!

To answer the uestion are the Buckeyes turning into an evil empire To me yes. 3 title games in 6 years and an annoying fan base who only look at things from one side. Dont get it twisted I AM NOT A BUCKEYE HATER. I'M ONLY KEEPING IT REAL!!!!! I'm looking at this thing from both sides of the fence. LSU is a great football team so are the Buckeyes. But once again lets be honest they both backed in to the BCS Championship Game. So I'm gonna call the game The Lucky State Tigers Vs The Ohio State Luckeyes There you happy Buckeye Nation? My prediction for this game: Both will show up both will play hard and 1 will be crowned the BCS National Champion, and if Hawaii wins they will think they deserve to be champion so will Georgia, Oklahoma, Kansas, West Virginia, Missouri, USC and the rest of the BCS top teams. In leiman's terms until we have a playoff THERE IS NO BEST TEAM IN THE COUNTRY!!! THERE IS NO NUMBER 1. PERIOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!! If you wanna call me a hater or a turncoat be my guest.

WAAF [website] morning man Greg Hill doesn't know what's more annoying - the pesky midge bugs or hosts of an Internet sports show who have a gnat-like sense of humor!

Hill, who last week offered to fumigate Jacobs Field for the three-game ALCS series in The Cleve, has been under constant attack by the hosts of the "Don and Tony Show" on Sports Talk Cleveland since announcing his fumigation largesse.

"Greg Hill, you are an idiot," Don Peterson said during Friday's show. "So listen up, Mr. Hill, shut the (bleep) up. You win the Shut the (Bleep) Up Award. Come to Cleveland, come say that to us in Clevelend. We'll have to fumigate when you leave."

Ouch! And the not-so-dynamic duo also launched a potty-mouthed Hill rant on their blog.

"Oh, yeah, they were all outraged," the Hill-man told the Track. "I told them when they called me yesterday after the show that there wasn't a need to get all worked up about it. It was a stunt. We just threw it out there to see if any dumbasses would talk about it. And they did. On the Internet. With their 15,000 listeners."

Greg, who BTW, just inked a 5-year extension at WAAF, said despite the swat by Don and his partner, Tony Mazur, his pesticide philanthropy hasn't waned.

"I'm still more than happy to pay for it - if the city accepts," he said.

That oughta really bug the Cleveland bunch!

I'm the New Mayor Of MAN Town

Well its official i have arrived. My show The Don and Tony Show made the Boston Hearld. Although they tried 2 paly us like some suckas its all good you talked about us. Even though i was misquoted tryna paint me as a potty mouth black guy (wait I AM a potty mouth black guy LOL) Beantown and Red Sox Nation and the 5000 people who read the Hearld (the Globe is a better paper) knows me. So i have an idea how about I annoint myself as the new Mayor Of MAN Town. How about that Don Peterson Mayor of MAN Town. My first duty as mayor of MAN Town is make Cleveland its home Nuthin against Beantown But Dammit Im from Cleveland. Ill be nice to Boston but F that Cleveland is the new MAN Town. With all the reason 2 be. Only a mans man would tread through a lake effect snowstorm in the middle of January. Plus Cleveland is a better sports town its a better city period. This is not a shot at Bean Town I REPEAT THIS IS NOT A SHOT AT BEAN TOWN im just saying. The food is better ( what would you rather have a sandwich From Slimans or some Chowda?) and the women are prettier ( Halle Berry trumps anything you have).
